While primarily spoken in Gujarat, there are significant Gujarati diaspora communities around the world, including New Zealand

Nilesh Kumar

President

Nilesh Kumar comes with lot of experiences in heading group and organisation. Been chairman for Southmall Body Corporate for last 17years. Also committee member of Manurewa Business Association for last 3 years. Been Secretary and President of Kshatriya Society of New Zealand. Nilesh join as Treasurer for last 2 years for South East Auckland Gujarati and current president know. He comes with a degree in Accounting.

Dixit Chauhan

Vice President

Dixit Chauhan, is a community-focused leader with a deep commitment to cultural service and global connection. He had had the privilege of serving as both Vice President and Immediate Past President of the South East Auckland Gujarati Association, where he worked to strengthen community bonds and celebrate our rich Gujarati heritage.

As Director of Public Image for Rotary District 9920, he is dedicated to promoting the values and impact of Rotary’s service, enhancing communication across clubs, and increasing community engagement.

Nitesh Khatri

Secretary

Nitesh comes from Gujarat, India and served as a Rotaract Club Secretary of Chikhli for half a decade before he made New Zealand his home in 2007.

With great achievements in the local community of Papatoetoe as a treasure for Hunters Corner Town Centre, he now focuses his energy on enhancing the Gujarati tradition with SEAG. His commitment in enhancing public relations with everyone involved in making this club thrive has been priceless.

Paresh Parshotam originally from Lautoka, Fiji

Lautoka Kshatriya Yuwak Mandal President 1998 to 2002 Moved to NZ in 2004

Kshatriya Society of New Zealand President 2009, 2017, 2018

New Zealand Gujarati Sports and Cultural Association President 2020, 2021, 2022

Introduced multi sports into NZGSCA in 2020 and first ever ladies Netball Participation

Founder of South East Auckland Gujarati Sports & Cultural Association

Qualification University of South Pacific Degree in Accounting

Currently working as Real Estate Sales agent Specializing in Developments at Barfoot & Thompson Papatoetoe, in real estate profession from 2004.

Believes in the bigger picture and visionary.

Jitu Patel

Assistant Secretary

Jitu Patel is Former Ba, Fiji Island’s resident, moved to New Zealand in 1989.

Football is his passion and has been involved in Gujarati associations since 1990.

He has been Committee member of Papatoetoe Football club for 5 years and coach at the same clubs over 12 years.

Dileep Solanki

Treasurer

Dileep is proud to serve and represent our vibrant community. He brings with him a strong commitment to transparency,
accountability, and community growth. He looks forward to managing the finances
responsibly and actively support cultural initiatives that keep our traditions alive.

Rishi Devidas

Assistant Treasurer

Rishi hails from the friendly Islands of Fiji. At a very young age of 14 he arrived in New Zealand. A Mount Albert Grammar student he joined the youth Kshatriyas committee to serve and organize events for the community in conjunction with the senior committee. Later on in life he joined the newly formed Otago Fiji Club Association to harness a stronger relationship with Island students who made Otago University their home for the next few years. His creative thinking and organizing skills make him an exceptional asset to our association and he is always up for a challenge

Nilesh Bhikha

Committee Member

Nilesh works in the business sector with a passion for sports, travel music and community services.

He thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoy staying active both mentally and physically.

He is also a founding member of United Sports Club and have previously served in the NZGSCA.

He embraces challenges and am always looking for new ways to grow and stay inspired by assisting friends and families.”

Bhavna Patel

Bhavna comes from Fiji . She moved to NZ in 1989.

She is an Rotarian Exchange student from Ba, Fiji Islands and is currently a

Member of Athia Trust Society since 1990, holding a bigger background in community catering and Sai group functions.

Suchit Desai

Committee Member

Suchit hails from Gujarat, India, arrived to New Zealand in 2014.

Suchit Desai’s journey has been one of professional growth. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Accounting, he’s now a Business Development Manager in the FMCG sector, balancing his career with a lifelong love for cricket.

Taran Devidas

Committee Member

Taran is our youngest ever committee member to date. At the age of 15 he has shown that true hard work equals rewards. Currently studying at ACG, he has shown that you can achieve a perfect balance between study and club responsibilities. Following the footsteps of his father, he actively participates in fundraising and event setups. He is currently part of our SEAG volleyball and table tennis team also. Keep up the great work son!

Manoj Patel

Manoj Patel orginates from Gujarat, India. He moved to Fiji Islands in 1979 working as a sales manager for 8 years before making New Zealand his home in 1990.He has been a member of Athia Trust Society since 1990. He was a treasurer for Sri Jalaram Samiti from 1992 till 2023. As of 2024, he is now serving as Vice President.
